Natural Feed Additive to Support Ruminant Health - Control System

Secondary fungal metabolites may be present in processed feed, co-products and bedding as they are extremely stable compounds produced by moulds and fungi that may be found in cereals, oilseeds, nuts and forages. They can be resistant to heat and chemical treatments, and can pose significant threat to livestock, especially breeding animals, if not managed.

One of the best ways to protect livestock from the harmful effects of secondary fungal metabolites is to use a control system such as Anpro.

Assists in the control of secondary fungal metabolites potentially found in raw materials, the diet, the environment and bedding materials.
Anpro is as effective or better than other feed quality management systems that require 5-10 times higher inclusion rates.

Negative Effects of Secondary Metabolites

If the animal is not attaining genetic potential, then there is a real possibility there may be secondary fungal metabolites present, and actions should be taken.

Ingesting secondary fungal metabolites can lead to:

Feed refusal or reduced feed intake.
Abortions and reduced fertility rates.
Impaired growth rates.
Increased susceptibility to diseases and infections

Add to feed at rates given below, ensure thorough mixing.

Small Ruminants
5 – 20 g/head/day

Large Ruminants
20 – 40 g/head/day

For best results, use continuously throughout the year.

Once opened, ensure the bag is tightly sealed in between use to ensure longevity of the product, and store in a cool, dry area away from heat and damp conditions.
